Obtaining extracts from raw materials
Advanced extraction technology for pure, high-quality extracts
Supercritical and subcritical extraction is a process used to obtain extracts and other bioactive compounds using gases under supercritical or subcritical conditions. This extraction method offers a major advantage: by regulating the pressure and temperature, it's possible to adjust the solvent's dissolving power, which enables you to obtain specific substances.
Our offer includes systems that use carbon dioxide as a solvent (supercritical CO2 extraction), but we also develop systems for supercritical water extraction (SWE).
MoSES extraction systems
Our product range includes standard supercritical extraction systems, but we also develop models adapted to specific customer requirements. The Škrlj MoSES system – certified and tested in accordance with EU standards – is a fully automated device designed for the subcritical and supercritical CO2 extraction of natural bioactive compounds.
We design and manufacture systems of various sizes: simple devices for small extract quantities, as well as larger systems for industrial use.

Our customer stories
Purchasing our own extraction system was an important step, as was choosing the right manufacturer. What ultimately tipped the scales in favor of SK Škrlj was their proximity, high-quality materials and components, technical support, and personal approach to projects, as they always try and take into account customer demands and expectations.
Compared to low-cost products currently available on the market, the Škrlj system detects potential hazards and is fully automated which prevents errors due to human factors. In case of deviations at any stage of the process, the system reports an error and alerts the operator. Diagnostics can also be run remotely, as the system can be connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Okavango Craft Brewery // Botswana
Maun
Established in 2019 in the city of Maun, which is located in Northern Botswana, Okavango Craft Brewery is the first licensed microbrewery in the area. It is named after the Okavango Delta, home to one of the largest elephant populations in the world. While their primary goal is to make top quality beer, they've also made it their mission to reduce their environmental impact and to support local economies, as well as local "elephant-aware" farmers who have integrated sustainable farming methods.
